Storm water flooded K-01 overnight on Feb. 28, Custodian Michael Fullbright said. The main cause of the flood is a clogged storm drain line, according to Fullbright.
Two inches of rainwater resulted in a small flood that damaged the dance floor, according to Fullbright. Water had seeped underneath the wooden floors, Fullbright said. The damage caused was very minimal, according to Fullbright.
“It took us an hour, maybe an hour-thirty to clear the clogged storm drain line,” Fullbright said. “When clogged, the rain went over the roof and went down the slanted entrance.”
Dance Teacher Mandy Cottengim discovered the dance room completely flooded on the morning of Feb. 28, Cottengim said. She commended the custodians for having the dance room completely dried out and ready by the following Monday.
“We ended up using the theater for the day,” Cottengim said. “The custodians did a very good job cleaning this place up. It didn’t stink up the place at all.”
