“Robotics is actually really fun. My entire life I planned to go into business but now that I’ve tried robotics, it’s been really interesting to me. It became one of my new passions. To build something, to know that you took a huge part in building something or coding something that moves or feels that it came to life, feels like you’ve given birth to something. It’s really crazy and different. Though Robotics Club, I hope that I’ll be able to impact a lot of people’s lives the same way the club originally impacted mine.
No one in specific [inspired me]. It was kind of weird. The first year I got into robotics, it was kind of hard for me because my parents, you know, asian parents tend to push going into doctoring or business, especially me as a girl. They never saw me being part of robotics and they weren’t supportive of me in the first year. But now that they can see that it changed my life, they’re more accepting of it.
This is more of something that I’ll say to other people. Take a chance in things that you didn’t really thing would fit you. Even if it didn’t fit you, there’s nothing to lose. You can get a really great opportunity out of it.”
