Meditation is more than just something you do for fun or to relax. It also helps you think about the purpose of your life. Many people see meditation as something useless or weird-looking until they try it and understand the deeper meaning behind it. Meditation is like therapy except you don’t have to talk about your problems. Instead, you can learn to deal with them at an easy pase. Over the past three years, I have used meditation as a way to deal with reality. I’ve seen big differences in the ways I handle certain situations, such as challenges that I would normally break down about. I’m able to handle my emotions and I can face difficult situations without hesitation. I feel as though meditation has helped me come a long way. Now, I am able to communicate with others without being afraid to talk, and I am able to go places without feeling judged.
Meditation has helped me over the years by helping me control my anxiety around others and clearing my mind when I’m overwhelmed or stressed out. The first month that I started using meditation, it didn’t impact me, but after I stayed consistent by meditating daily, I started to experience changes in my behavior and actions in a positive way. After a while, it started to become part of my morning routine. I take deep breaths, go on runs to be able to clear my mind, and even listen to podcasts that help guide me to a good state of mind when I’m feeling claustrophobic. I even do yoga to get extra time with relaxation and stress relief when I need an extra push. I go to classes that sometimes are strictly just to do breathing exercises or do poses like the downward dog to relieve the stress that is in my body that causes me to lack energy a lot. With meditation, I’ve been able to achieve a lot, such as being able to focus in school and not being afraid to ask for help. I am also able to talk to new people without feeling like a burden and take photos with confidence and not let people’s comments affect me.
Meditation can also hip with your mental and physical stability, as well as get you out of your shy zone; by teaching you how to write down your problems so you can reflect on them as you make progress, learn how to release thoughts out of your mind by going exercising, and slowly talking to others. For instance, when it comes to thinking, it helps you get out your thoughts and put them in a better place, so your ideas flow without being cluttered. With your physical state, it helps you relieve stress and tension while providing energy and a feeling of relaxation. You can even lose weight with the different types of yoga poses you can do, like the cobra, upside-down dog, or even the ninja that get into hard to reach places and workout the muscles that are always stiff and where stress goes throughout the day if your not an active person. With meditation, you’re able to feel your mood change from exhausted to energized, and be able to have a better attitude towards things, such as going out with friends or even the way you see yourself as a person. The reverse psychology that meditation provides is something that you wouldn’t be able to figure out if you tried to on your own because with the guidance of professionals and the support with the motivation that is given in person or through videos is something you could never understand with just your mindset.
For anyone wanting to meditate, you don’t have to go to a professional. Instead, you can look up some videos and do some sessions that others recorded and you’ll be able to pause it so you can go as slow as you want without having to leave your comfort zone. You can start with some easy breathing exercises, then move forward to trying out various yoga positions. Even without doing sessions, you can still take a break from whatever you are doing to still write down what’s going on in your like naming some positive and negative things that are or have happened to you throughout the day. You can also take a nap or listen to music that builds up your motivation to want to keep going. Meditation is a long process to get through which not a lot of people complete like I’m barely doing sessions but still the reflections and breaks so don’t feel like you have to go through the whole thing.
