“Why did you get your ears pierced?”
“Uhh..well, I got my piercings after AP testing was over. It was an impulsive decision really, in the heat of the moment. I just went with it. At first, I was scared that my parents would yell at me so for the first two days or so, I was always wearing a hood at home claiming that my head was “cold.” Eventually, I just…stopped caring. Surprisingly, my parents didn’t even notice until 3 days later. They didn’t yell at me too much; they were more irritated about the money I spent than me actually getting my ears pierced. These piercings helped me realize that not everyone is going to be focusing their attention on you 100% of the time. Don’t stress about what others think of you because those thoughts don’t last very long anyways, yeah?”
